Michael and Danielle: A Spring Proposal in Crested Butte, Colorado

There is something entirely magical about springtime in Crested Butte. As the snow melts away to reveal the rugged beauty of the mountains, it sets the ultimate stage for an unforgettable milestone. When Michael reached out to plan a surprise proposal for Danielle, we knew we wanted a backdrop that felt both epic and deeply intimate, and Crested Butte delivered in spades.

Candid Joy in the High Country

What makes a proposal or engagement session truly special isn't just the ring, it's the way a couple forgets the camera is even there. From piggyback rides with panoramic valley views to quiet, stolen glances and uncontrollable laughter, Danielle and Michael’s energy was electric.

These photos are a reminder of why I love doing what I do. It’s about creating a space where you can pop the champagne, run around the mountains, and just celebrate being completely in love.

Stress-Free Planning (Champagne Included!)

The best candid moments happen when you don't have to worry about a single detail. When Michael and I were planning this surprise, we wanted to make sure Danielle wouldn't suspect a thing. That’s why I take care of the heavy lifting. I don’t just show up with my cameras; I help map out the perfect timeline, scout the location, and even bring along the chilled bottle of champagne and glasses so you can toast to forever the second she says yes.

And because a moment this big deserves to be remembered in every medium, I don't just capture the stills, I also set up to film the entire proposal on video. You get to live completely in the moment, pop the cork, and celebrate, knowing every laugh, tear, and flying champagne bubble is being preserved forever.
