The Proposal
When Cole called me, he wanted to do his proposal at noon on the day they got into Crested Butte. As a photographer, noon in Colorado is kind of a nightmare time to shoot, but I never say no. I did want him to get the best images possible so I agreed to stay in town for a night to capture the engagement session in the wildflowers of Crested Butte. Not gonna lie, it was just as worth it as I thought it would be.

Snodgrass Mountain
I spent a few years in Crested Butte, but driving around in the summer of 2025 I was in awe the entire time. What did I even do when I lived here?! Snodgrass is famous for its fields of Lupine flowers, and I knew it was the perfect spot to get the 'big ask'.

The morning race to the Mountain
As I was packing my car for Crested Butte to meet Cole and Grace, Cole texted me letting me know they had gotten a head start that morning. I had gotten the right amount of a start to give me two hours of lead time on my couple, but now I had a 45 minute buffer. We booked it out of Denver, only stopping briefly to go to the bathroom, and trucked it up the trail to lay down the markers for Cole, who was in Crested Butte getting gas.

Engagement at Gothic
The Next Day
I always stay at the Crested Butte Hostel, to the point they are starting to know my name there and it's feeling like a home away from home. I went out in the morning to get coffee in Gothic and poke around the locals for an iconic waterfall in the area. It was peak flow, but I wanted to scout out the perfect location for my couple. I ran around the entire valley, trying to find the perfect spot, but all the waterfalls were gushing and not accessible without possibly getting into trouble. So, my couple and I settled on the wildflower fields outside of Gothic, Colorado.

What a Dream...
Cole had packed Grace a secret bag specifically for this session, getting her dresses, makeup, and shoes so she would be able to look her best. She had no idea this was happening this weekend and Cole did a great job keeping it a secret. I think he also did a Great Job picking out these outfits.
